The "registered" member count is actually much higher, when kyle upgraded the forums all members that had'nt been active for 30 days was pruned, this is many months ago, back then before they were pruned there were 40k registered members or so.

Never been to a LAN party, but maybe that's because my tower feels like it weighs 100lbs :)
