i plan to get 3 7950s for my rig in a few days and do you think a hx1000 will cut it?

rest of the rig are 3930k at 4.8ghz 2 hhd 1 ssd 1 dd5 pump and some case fans.

im thinking it will be close but should work?

As long as you're not OCing all three of them, it should work. Hell, even then it should work, but it may limit your OCing ability (artifacts earlier than normal due to lack of necessary power, instability, etc).

You should be fine even with overclocking. 7950s overclocked use ~260 watts at most (unless you're doing extreme overvolting), and your i7 tops out around 150-200 watts.

I have been running Tri Fire on multiple setups for a while now, and I have learned that it is wise to keep your PSU within 80% of its stated power over the long haul. You gotta leave a little something in the tank. That is all I will say on this subject.

From AMD website......◾750W (or greater) power supply with four 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors recommended for AMD CrossFire™ technology

This is assuming 2 7950s.

It also depends on PSU quality. I Seasonic at 1KW is more than sufficient.
