wich stepping codes of the 3.4e are unlcokable with the asus cpu lock free function
 
This is what ASUS lists as required for compatability

Prescott Socket 478 CPU (FMB1.5)
800MHZ FSB, 3.2GHz, 3.4GHz+

I have no idea what FMB1.5 is, but that seems to be the compatability info

None. That was a marketing gimmick.

Intel has a few processors that allow use at 800MHz FSB and 1066MHz FSB. The Asus board unlocks nothing, Intel ships the processors with 2 available multipliers.

The P4s that ship with 1066MHz FSB support are the ones Intel ships with 2 multipliers unlocked. And it looks like most of those have dried up like the "F" processors... the 1066MHz FSB ones disappeared since Intel decided to make that an EE feature. Dumb move.
 
well ive seen on other forums where people with 3.4e's (D0 stepping) have changed their multi from 17 to 14...but ive had no luck
 
Abit IC7-MAX3 BIOS v1.8 allows thge 3.4e to drop the multiplier from 17 to 14, ck it out in the Abit forums.
 
Works on mine. (S775 3.4E 540 D0, ASUS P5GD2 Deluxe) You may need a BIOS update for it to work, though.
 
well yours is a lga 775 im running a socket 478 and ive updated to the newest bios both beta and standard and neither one work
 
well I know I am a noobie but the p4p800-e deluxe does it also with the 1004 bios of course.

SWEET i flashed to the 1020.1 beta bios and it unlocked it to 14x im now running a 270mhz fsb wich gives me 3.78ghz the pcmark scores are about the same as when i had it at 239fsb=4.06ghz but my temps are lower and if im not mistaken games like high memory bandwidth.
 
I know it's no bit deal but my 3.4E & DFI 975P-T LGA775 board had the multiplier set at 14x default. I had to change it to 17x manually.
