Just want to ask if anybody here has a OC 3.4E, want to know how high did you OC it and what settings. im planning on getting a 3.4E or 3.2E, just want to know which CPU would be good for OC. :)

Well my 3.4 (550) is running at 3.58 but the motherboard is holding me back as Intel's suck for overclocking. But as I understand it, the 3.4E's can go to 4GHz+ with the right cooling and mobo.

Get an ASUS or Abit mobo! They are more OCin' friendly than the Intel's. I am currently running my P4 550 at 3.73 with 1066FSB.

i have a 3.4E (socket 478) at 4+ghz with an msi 865pe neo2 pfs but the best prescott overclockers board is the abit ic7 max3

My 3.4E is running in this shuttle @ 3.7. Even with the shuttles cooling i was able to get it stable at 3.87 but the load temperatures had me worried. nothing that couldnt be solved with better cooling tho :)

which do you think would be a better choice to OC between the 2 ? I wanted to get past 4GHz + :D and my NORTHWOOD is keeping me from doing so. :( so im planning of disposing it and getting a pressy. ;)

3.4E at 4.088, 1.525v FSB, Asus P5AD2 Premium. I run it higher when the ambient is lower.

is it true that the EO stepping is better in OC compared to other stepping, been trying to look for EO but cant seem to find any...you guys know were i can find one.... wish i bought a pressy instead of northwood :(

not really....wait....of course not! mobo has a critical part too... look for 560J, 540J and 530J

I just did that two nights ago. I got the AA8XE. I'm going to start playing with it in the next little while and see what I can do. Although my stock Intel fan will hold me back. So I have to do something about that.

EDIT: 58C under full load BTW

I know the stock cooler is a pile of crap. I just haven't gotten anything better yet. I was actually going to go out tommarow and look for a better HSF. I'll get around to it soon enough.
