I've had this beeping coming from my motherboard while playing certain games. It's at it's worst at the server browser in BF:Vietnam, and off and on during play. It also happens in Painkiller a little and Far Cry occasionally. SO. I have the HArdware Doctor/Winbond monitoring, and by trial and error of disabling/enabling alarms it's come down to my +3.3v line. That is my AGP voltage, correct? My card is at stock, always has been and my AGP and PCI clocks are locked in my BIOS.

Is my PSU dying? It shouldn't it's only like 5 months old. Any info would be great, if it is my PSU I want to replace it immediatly.
 
Arent most AGP cards now run off 1.5V or something, and then the actual videocard (in your case the 9800pro) take power from the psu's floppy connector, but yeah i think the AGP, ram etc all draw power from the 3.3V line. How much does the voltage on the 3.3V rails fluctuate by?
 
I have no idea how much it fluctuates. The stock alarm settings for the +3.3 are, 3.10 for low alarm and 3.50 for high. Sitting here typing this it fluctuates from 3.28 to 3.30. I can't recreate what happens during the games with any kind of stress test or benchmark. I think it's weird that when it really gets off the hook is in the damn server browser of BF:V. It's just some music and shitty graphics sitting there, meanwhile Far Cry with all settings on High does it like every once in a great while.

AGP is supplied, atleast in part by the 3.3V rail, as is the CPU (though 12V is the dominate power source anymore), the RAM, and most PCI cards.
If you think you're getting a low voltage, and sub 3.1 is deffinatley low, try setting the CPU back to stock, taking out some ram, maybe even removing some non-essential cards. Anything to try and lighten the load on that rail.
 
What model number and amperage spec is your PSU.

I can't confirm this on Intel platform LanParty board but I can on the Nforce 2; Before my LanParty NF2 died, my +12 rail always fluctuated badly (12.10 to 11.95, idle) Now I have a enermax 430 watt and after switching to my nf7, the voltages on my +12 never go below 12.05 at load. For some reason, my PSU fluctuates on that DFI board, could be just that one board but I'm not going to find out, i'm in my happy place with my NF7

Negative, my system cooling is bulletproof, CPU sits at 21c idle, and the highest ever has been 37c.

The only card I have in any slot is my videocard so I don't think it's because of too many accesories. As far as the CPUI going back to stock, it doesn't stop the beeps and I can't do without my 1GB of RAM.

You're sure it's MBM bitching and not the keyboard buffer beep?
Arrow key gamers run into the keyboard buffer issue a lot.

Your 9800Pro is connected with the additional power connector is it not? If it is I'd assume it's not an AGP power issue. But it still could be of course...
 
I also use winbond monitoring, it is glitchy. For example on full speed my vantec tornado runs at a maximum speed of 4500rpms, the low limit for the cpu fan is set at about 3000. Usually I run the tornado at like 100 over 3000. If i crank the fan up after the hw monitor is loaded, the system starts beeping. All i do is click up once and down once on the low limit and the beeping stops. I don't understand why it does this. The fan has been increased in speed and it never drops below 3000.

BTW, I turned my vcore alarm back on tonight and it is causing the beeping now too. YAY!
 
It's down to a matter of elimination bud, replace the PSU would be the simplest and quickest way. If it remains the same or worse then it's for sure the DFI
