3.0E is it EE?

i dont understand is the 3.0E a budget version of p4EE
Not quite. The Socket 478 P4EE's use the older 0.13-micron Northwood core, and as such have just 512K of L2 cache. But the P4EE's add 2MB of on-die L3 cache on top of the Northwood features.

The 3.0E uses the 0.09-micron Prescott core, and has 1MB of L2 cache (but no L3 cache).

Ok. so then is the 3.0E worth getting over the 3000+ 64?
The 3.0E would be at best a side-grade - and in some cases, a downgrade - from an AMD Athlon64 3000+.

The 3.0E would lose to even a 2800+ A64 in gaming. But it would beat a 3200+ A64 in most media encoding tasks.

Riddle me this... L2 cache is faster than L3 cache?... and how come when they add cache it has to be done in the level two cache and not the level 1??? what's the deal with mc neal?
