In regards to the high price of ram these days, I'm planning to way a little til the price drops. However, my 3.0c w/HT and my mobo is just lying on the floor doing nothing. Although, I do have a 512 2100 generic ram. Someone told me although it'll still run, there's gonna be mass instability under 400FSB. Is that true? It's going to be a temporary thing but I'm also worrying if it'll damage my cpu? :rolleyes:
 
it certainly won't damage the CPU, that's for sure. Just find the highest clock that RAM will support (which will probably be UNDER the stock 200MHz, so START LOW!!)

I'd worry MUCH more about frying the RAM than the CPU. You might not be able to get it to POST, since it's trying to start at 200MHz, and the RAM probably doesn't overclock that high.
