I have just received a Dell precision M4800 with Intel 4930mx and dual 512gb samsung SSD's in raid 0. The laptop has Windows 8 on it and runs slower than my 4 year old Sony with an old Kingston single 256gb ssd. I ran a couple free hard drive benchmark software and I am getting 100-150 Mb per second sequential read write speeds. These drives are supposed to read at least 500mb per second on their own and I would expect close to 1gig per second read on Raid 0, at least on the benchmark software.

What could be wrong?

One of the drives is a mini card, the other is a regular ssd, could this be a problem? Is this common? Can the operating system be a problem? It is my work computer so I do not have the luxury of re installing win7 and trying it on that.
