Ok so i have 2 xp pro machines and 2 xp home machines and a broadband router
i have these all plugged into a smc switch
all pc's get the internet fine but whenever i try to view shared folders and files i get accsess denied mesg saying i might not have accsess permission,
now all used login accounts are admin accounts with the same passwords
i disabled simple file sharing on the pro machines
i enabled guest account on all machines (i read even if you dont use it that you have to for lan authentication - i am dfoubtful of this but to be safe have done it)
i have run the idiot proof network setup wizards
i enabled netbios over tcp on all machines
the only succsess i have is that one of the home machines can view the shared files on a pro machine and i just dont know why - can anyone help - i'd like for all pc's to be able to see each other and to be able to share files too.
thanks
