What would be better? They are both the same price from where I come from. 2x6600GT $4 cheaper than just 1 6800GT.

What would be better for money and value? :)

2 6600GTs wouldnt make much sense, even though they are about the same price. I think its a better deal to buy a 6800GT now, and another down the road when you need that performance boost.

Yeah I guess your right on that one. Im not buying anything.. Is my roommate he has just got a 6600GT.. and I was just wondering if two of those were just as good if not better than just one 6800Ultra :p

I've almost broken 7k 3dmark05 with my dual 6600gt's

That makes them better then a 6800gt in most things

I always thought the general consensus was that the 6800GT was the better of the two...

Actually if you read this article http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NzE2LDE= the 6600's fall short of the single 6800GT in many things.

And you should know that 3d mark scores being high doesn't mean your card is better in most things. It might be better than a certain card at 3dmark05 but not an actual game, which is what counts.

Unless you start bumping up FSAA and AA. 6600GT SLI Wins in alot of things

The 6800gt is better obviously. And buying 1 6800gt would be cheaper now then 2x 6600gt's.

In any case it all depends on what resolution you play at and what games you play.

No brainer...

6800GT - cheaper; just as fast as 26600GTs, if not faster; single card;less power

If its only 10 dollar difference, I would still get the 6800GT

One thing you may want to keep in mind is that the 2x 6600GT will probably have better resale value. I guess it depends on how often you plan on upgrading your video card. If you want high res/AA you're probably going to want to go with the 6800gt for the performance.

I have a 6800GT and i'm very happy with it. With the new 1.03 patch, BF2 runs smooth even on my 2 year old system...
