2x2gig or 4x1gig?

Is there any benift to getting a 2x2gig set of ram as opposed to 4x1gig? A friend of mine sugested it would be better but nither of use know for sure. I currently have 2 gigs 667 ram and i want to upgrade to 4gigs 800. Also how will this affect my overclock?
 
It depends on your motherboard mostly. I believe some mobo's have problems using all 4 RAM DIMMs.

As for performance difference, I'd assume its minimal if any.
 
If you're aren't OCing, go with whatever's cheapest.

If you are, always go with the fewest amount of sticks as possibly (2x2GB).

I had 4x1GB and ended up losing a ton of MHz on my OC. Now I'm 2x2GB and got 'em back. :)
