im pretty settled on the apogee xt for my wb, just confused as to which rad to use, its either 2x120 or 3x120. what do u guys think?

I'm not a [H]ard overclocker but I have 2 separate i7 920 boxes which I've water cooled for silence. In my primary machine, the 920 shares a Swiftech 3x120 rad with 2 sli'd gtx280's. The second 920 shares a Swiftech 2x120 rad with a gtx 285. I have monthly LAN's with long sessions and have never had any problems with either machine.

Definitely go with a 120.3 radiator. I used a 120.2, then a 120.3 Swiftech. Difference was 8c. I then installed both and that dropped it another 6-7c :D This is with low speed fans. High speed fans would help me, but screw the noise.

does the xt block warrant the extra cash? or is the gtz a viable choice with a 120.3 rad?

A 120.2 or 120.3 radiator will both cool your CPU very effectively short of you putting an insane amount of voltage through it. A 120.3 will cool better, but its not going to provide you additional headroom for overclocking.

The same can be said about CPU waterblocks. Any quality CPU block will cool your CPU effectively. The difference in temps that people are talking are all of about four degrees. Short of e-peen this difference really won't have any impact when cooling your CPU.

Get whatever combination fits your budget best and enjoy water cooling.

i appreciate all ur guys help, looks like i'll start with a 120.2 and move up if needed later, and as far as my block goes its between the gtz and the enzo saphire. thanks again

I have been considering switching my i7 to a WC setup as well, however, I only have room for single 120 rads. Would this just be an absolutel nono even if I used one of those XSPC passive reservoirs?
