Looking for a APC, I upgraded my Power Supply to 1050 Watts Rev85+.

I am running two power supplies both Rev85+, one 850 watts and the other 1050 watts.

I am not hitting anywhere close to 1800 watts, but my system is not complete either. Before I had an active PFC psu, my computer under load was hitting 400 watts. Even with my new gear I don't think I'll pass 1000. However my APC is a APC BR1500LCD. Good for 1500VA and 865 Watts.

The main problem is my wiring is only Nema 15P, and I can't change it (rental), so I am thinking the best and cheapest thing to do, is get another APC BR1500LCD. Is there any problems in running two APC BR1500LCD? Should I instead buy a more expensive unit? The main hurdle I run into is that most above this series are 20P's.

My computer when its finished will have these specs:

My idea is, run the 800 watt psu, which I believe will be pulling around 200 watts total, + all my monitors, (3) and my printer and misc gear, (phones, blue tooth, etc) + lights which would be another 100-200 watts into one APC BR1500LCD.

Then plug in my main PSU the Rev85+ 1050w into one APC BR1500LCD by itself.

I don't think my PC would pull 800+ watts even on load anyhow.

Anyhow since I can't use 20P do you guys think this is the best set up?

Originally I was going to pick up a DLA1500, for more headroom, but then I saw the shipping costs (Almost $400) when its all said and done. I can pick up a APC BR1500LCD 200 shipped from the egg, and that is more appealing.

Also to my understanding 15A plugs, should draw 2000 watts total without to much problems.

ps. I added 5 hardrives to my system :)

pss. I only need about 2 minutes of back up time, normally shut off apps, not worried on batteries
Thanks!

I don't see anything wrong with going through with that plan. There's no reason why you would need to run everything off a single large UPS.

its ironically cheaper too, since I don't need a continuous set wattage, etc. The APC BR1500LCD seemed like the best price/performance APC I could find, heh, and worked great thus far. Unless someone else chimes, in guess Ill go with Plan A.

If you want the most redundancy for a server, you put in a redundant PSU, with each portion plugged into a separate UPS on a separate AC circuit.

I am using a single APC Backups RS-1200 with both of my machines along with an XBOX 360.
At full load on all 3 devices I hit 575watts.
Main machine has 11 hard drives, 2 LCD monitors, 2 Switches, desk lamp, and a pair of Alesis Powered Studio monitors.

I'd say grab another APC unit just so you have a little longer run time and the ability to keep adding more equipment.
