Making my backup computer my main computer.

I will be building in a

A45 MAX Open Frame ATX / E-ATX Aluminum PC Case​


My rendering on a single 5090 is set to 70% power and looking for ways to cut it even more. The other 5090 will be limited to 70% as well. (3d rendering). I am looking for a supply that has 2x high power cables just for simplicity sake. In all my years of 4090 and 5090 never had a problem. So What should I be buying?
 
EVGA SuperNOVA T2 1600W, Super Flower Leadex Titanium v3.0 1600W (or 1700W), or a Corsair AX1600i would be my picks.

Dark Power 14 1200 watt just picked up one of these since my old 1000 watt only lasted a few days feeding the 5090 before is started turning off randomly with kernel power errors. The PSU has two 12VHPWR but I'm not sure it could managed two 5090's even at 70%. That's still near 850 watts in GPU alone. The PSU tested really well at cybenetics.

MSI MPG A1250GS has 2 12v-2x6 connectors and is generally reasonably priced. If you're power limiting to 70% a 1200w PSU should be plenty, but I would go with a 1500w or greater power supply with a dedicated 240v line if you ever want to run them at full speed.
 
If you don't mind high end, Seasonic Prime TX-1600 has two.

All mentioned are great choices, and for me personally, I would choose a manufacturer I'm familiar with and has served me well in the past, or has a good reliable history. EVGA, Corsair, Super Flower (the good Corsairs are typically Super Flower rebrands), and Seasonic are a few I'd always choose. Rosewill, Cooler Master, and PCcooler are manufacturers I personally stay away from (for PSU's). I don't know how ASRock PSU's are, but I don't mind their motherboards, so wouldn't mind giving them a try, especially for the price-point they're offering. However, considering they're powering up two RTX 5090's, I'd pick something more reputable.
 
Well, I see the sea Sonic prime is what I am going to order off amazon. Going to order the Plat for $500

I think with both cards running 70% and lower if i can undervolt and power limit i should be fine. Kind of a bitch i can't go lower with the 5090's. Maybe with the next gen. Thanks guys for helping me pick. And Thanks for that link

Seasonic Prime TX-1600 is roughly top end short of something that needs 240V just to work. Given your previous posts I'm thinking it's either that or run a 240V circuit and get something bigger. You have a track record of building massively powerful rigs. Unless you're in a building that makes it difficult, I'd expect you'd just have an electrician run whatever you need. How expensive that is depends on the building. I'm pretty sure I could get a 240V outlet in my office for less than a Seasonic Prime TX-1600. My office is right on top of my main electrical panel and I have plenty of spare spots for breakers. So add a 240V breaker & run a line like five feet to an outlet.

I am in a house. A older one but still the breaker is in my room if I need to go that far but I think this will be fine. Yeah my Rigs are over the top. When I saw the PS was 12 pounds I was like let me chat with maker and make sure it will support it and it will. Man I am going to have so many parts to sell after this build lol. I really don't want to pay any one to upgrade the house to support this but like I said. I think I will be fine. The kitchen only trips when you have the kurg the toaster oven and the microwave all going at the same time lol. Ask me how i know lol

Amazon sent a fucking used power supply. After looking at the order it does say shipped from amazon resale. What the fuck. Maybe I did fuck up but god damn used shit and man They did to make it super fucking clear it is used like in your face. what ever it is going back lol. I don't see any more of those for sale with the 3.1 standard on amazon.

I use Amazon resale a lot, and it's not bad. Warranty is still covered. Still, PSU's you kinda want new. Who knows what the previous person did to it.

i took a look at your post and I am going to buy a Corsair AX1500i based on your post. And it is only $350 vs the $500 to that is a win for me. I never had a problem with any of the 3 corsair PS i had in the past.

IIRC for the TX-1600 3.0/5.0->3.1/5.1 was basically a cable swap, not sure about the PX. The electronics were already good enough for the new standard. Of course it's a $560 PSU, so what would you expect? I don't see any PX-1600s on Amazon, just the TX-1600. Corsair AX1600i? I don't even see those on Corsair's marketing pages on their web site. Looks like an older model. I think you want an HX1500i if you go Corsair. Is that what you were talking about? They're $350. That should be fine. So would the Dark Power Pro 1600.

Do you mean the HX1500i? The AX-i series has been out of production for a while and had longevity issues.

yes the hx1500i i think i copy what he put but the hx1500 pop up
 
Super Flower and Seasonic are probably the two top tier OEMs at the moment. CWT can make some great ones also but most of their stuff is in the middle to good range.
