My Areca raid controller offers a 2nd way to exceed the 2TB barrier; by changing the sector size from the normal 512 byte/sector to 4k/sector. This will allow up to 16TB under Windows 2000 & XP. However the non-standard sector size prevents you from converting the volume to dynamic disk.
