2nd SATA - Install Later?

I've been reading about proper installation steps, and read that it is better to install the OS SATA drive first, and then setup the 2nd data SATA drive later. Is this true? Why?

I think just to avoid confusion. There is no master/slave jumper to immediately tell your comp on first boot which drive to look at, so just hook the one you want to install the OS on first, install everything, get it running, then plug in the other SATA drive. If nothing else, you avoid any possible hassles.
 
If you know how to read, then your fine with putting them both in at once. Put your desired C: drive on SATA1, and the second drive on SATA2. Then during the Windows install, make sure your selecting the right drive for C....and the right drive for D. You'd be surprised how many people are too lazy to read the steps, and then complain when they have their OS install on F:.
