Ok Im at my wits end on this one, ive been playing with this for a week with no luck. I Bought a 2.4A and a MSI PT 880 neo. But when i try to overclock over 2mhz, the the SATA controller wont detect my Raptor. I assume the PCI bus is being overclocked, but the bios has a setting to set the AGP frequency(which the PCI freq. derives from) and I leave it set at 66mhz with to no avail. Ive tried all the BIOS versions and just about every other BIOS setting combination possible, including ramping up the voltages to the north and south bridge. Does anybody have any suggestions? Im beggining to think this board isnt so much of a "value" after all. Thanks.

look for something saying Locked or Fixed under the AGP/PCI bus frequency menu

There no setting that says locked or fixed, a one to change the frequency.

And i bought the board because of the Hardocp review

did they say it was a good board or did they say it was a 1337 xtrem machine built for overclocking.

return the 2.4a and msi when you still can.

get a abit ai7 and a 2.4C and then some pc3500 to top it off

welll...thats what you get for buying MSI?

Way to give the guy crap.

Anyways, SATA is more sensitive to OCing. All I can suggest is running only IDE harddrives. You could also try for an RMA, see if you get any more luck from another PT880.
