2gb vs 4gb

hey,

im about to build a system and i bought 2gb of ballistix ddr2 800. If another one of those sales comes along I am thinking about buying another 2gb... right now I have XP but will upgrade to vista once it becomes a bit more user friendly and stable. Is it worth it to get 4gb, I don't do any intense graphic or compiling work, just average gaming and multitasking, some video encoding etc.
 
2Gb is perfect ,4Gb is for what you said ,someone who is into graphics and what not.

With XP , people arent realy suggesting more than 3 but are suggesting 2, "some" video encoding should be fine with 2. If you realy want three, you should use the search and do some reading on how 3Gb is with your system as far as over clocking and such.

With Vista peope are saying the avg. PC user may go with 2Gb or 4Gb due to the fact that vista is a little bloated with its own procceses.
 
Wow another 2GB vs. 4 GB thread. Just do what the other 4,082,502 people that made the same thread did.
 
If your going to game with Vista, then go the 64bit route with 4gb, you'll need it.
 
l;ike evryone else said.. the more ram the better, i have vista x64, and 4gb of ballstix ddr800 memory, and a m2n-sli (ASUS) motherboard. EVERYTHING works perfectly. (cept my processor that runs at 60* idle... but thats just bad manufacturing)


just do it. you will thank yerself later
