i just got a new 2G ipod nano and i didnt look it over when i first got it. When i had it in my pocket someone sat on me. There was no apparent damage to the ipod but after observing it i saw that the screen was, how can I say it, lower than the outer casing? is this normal? My 1G ipod nanos screen is lined up with the casing. I hope you can understand my question and hopefully answer it.

i dont have one but i think all of them are lower than the outer casing

On my 2G Nano, the display is snug up against the bottom of the casing. There is what appears to be a rubber or foam gasket in between.

cant recall whether the screens are tight with no gaps or not. although you my have noticed a some visual damage it really shouldn't hurt it if the screen only has tiny gaps between it and the outer casing. no worries.
