2D issues with PNY 6800s

I have a PNY 6800 128 and I have had terrible 2d quality issues with my VGA-Analog LCD. This has been confirmed by other users as a frequent PNY 6800 problem. I am getting a PNY 6800 GT for cheap and I want to know if anyone has had similar problems with the GT.

Have you tried using the DVI port on the video card through a DVI-VGA adapter? I am using an analog LCD through the adapter on my 6800 NU and the image is perfect. Previously I had a Ti4200 and I noticed a huge difference when switching to the DVI port through an adapter. I have not tried the VGA port on the 6800 so I'm not sure how it is but I may test it later today.
 
Did you check for the missing capacitator? I believe some of the people with the missing cap did mention they had bad 2d.

The video card does not have a DVI port ??? I don't have DVI on my LCD either, I am using a DVI to VGA adapter so I can use the DVI port on the video card.

Suck, I would RMA or exchange at the store if you got it at CompUSA.
 
All PNY 6800GT's have DVI connectors. So you will have that even if your monitor doesn't. It also still has an analogue port, should you need it.

He means that his monitor doesn't have a DVI input. Most monitors don't--I got mine in August 2003 and it only has VGA.
