I just scored a brand new sealed 290x Lightning for $307.00 otd from Ebay, which mesans I'm the happiest boy in the world (and most anxious), but have some concerns about my current PSU. I'm using a PCP&C Silencer MKIII 600W. Something tells me it may not be adequate enough. Do I need to be looking for a new 700-750W psu, and if so any recommendations?

Yep, good to go.
Your PSU can handle any single GPU card you throw at it.

According to Anand's Bench a 290X in Uber mode will draw about 400 watts from the wall at full load. A quality 600 like yours (its a Seasonic built unit) will be plenty capable to handle it.

I was reading a bit earlier, apparently it has LEDs to show your power status. Red= not enough power, blue= good to go, and orange= extra power for more OC. How fricken cool is that!? I kinda figured I'd be all set, just wanted to make sure.

Always a good policy to ask first if in doubt. :)

your current ps has been checked out to provide 712 watts max.....but keep in mind your ps has two 26 amp rails.......i think it would do fine with any 290x made to date:)
edit actually it combines 12a and 12b into one rail so it actually a single rails...my bad (even better)
