Tested a 290 recently, and just got a Gig 970 WF3. No longer have the 290 so cant test anything else. Will be trying the 970 @ 4K tomorrow though with Vanishing Of Ethen Carter and Ryse Son Of Rome added in.

4690K @ 4.5Ghz
