i need help ocing my 2800

im on an abit nf7-s 2.0

whenever i change the fsb and multiplier and/or voltages it doesnt boot and then i have to reset cmos. ocing programs dont work either.

some help please
 
just change one or the other...like just FSB or just multiplier...you might be altering it too much...also, don't touch the voltage...find ur highest OC w/o a volt-mod, then go ahead and up the v-core.
 
i have just changed one thing before but it was so small of changes that it wouldnt make a difference... i want it at 2.2 and i havent gotten past 2.09
 
hmm....maybe you just have a bad OCer? i mean, what's the stock for a 2800+ 2GHz? yeah, so, i don't know what to say...u might just have a chip that failed running at the higher speeds and so they slowed it down and sold it as a 2800+...ya never know...
 
ok using clockgen im at 2.2 ghz

shouldnt the temperature rise? im still idleing at 35C 3case fans and a spleeze(or w/e the brand is) hs with 80mm fan

side fan is intake back fan is exhaust and bottom fan is taking the cold air from the bottom of the case upwards... (bottom proven to be colder with thermometer)

when i restart... should the fsb be saved? im new to overclocking.
 
well, i wouldn't trust onboard temp probes, as they are usually off...but still, if that's ur temp, by all means go for it...as for the restart, unless there is something wrong, it will save everything in your BIOS, unless you pick the "exit without saving changes" option...well, duh, obviously ;)
 
Alright, first of all... set your memory to run at 400MHz and FSB to be at 200MHz (1:1) if it's not already. Hopefully it will be unlocked, and you can do 10x200. I'm not sure if the 2800+ was a 333 or 400MHz chip. Anyway, make sure the AGP/PCI are locked ... shouldn't be a problem with the nForce2 board.

thanks now im going to try and go higher and rember thats in fahreinhiet = 36 C
running prime95 for an hour now its 120F = 48 C

im believing the temps because i touched the heatsink and felt no heat at all even down to the bottom even when playing COD i dont feel heat and during that it about 110F to 115
