27 inch monitor viewing distance?

I am currently using a 19inch Acer monitor running at 1440x900 resolution. I am usually sitting about 2 and a half to 3 feet away from the monitor and was wondering if getting a 27 inch monitor would be to much for that close or if it would be fine?

I used a 17inch monitor before i got this 19inch acer and when I upgraded i though this thing was huge but its looks tiny to me now that I have gotten used to it.

I have a 42" Samsung. I'm sitting 1.5 feet away. You can sit as close as you want, I'd just recommend that you should sit far away enough to see the whole monitor area without turning your head a lot.

I use a 37" lg 1080p tv on a wall mount I sit about 3 ft away from it.

I find that a good resource for getting an idea of distances. Note that is specifically for movies, but I find those distances to be pretty good for general purpose and gaming as well.
