Currently have a Westinghouse 22W2 TN panel 22" 16:10. Personally, I like that aspect ratio. I'm not a fan of the 16:9. That being said, no, I give shits not about color reproduction, or whatever the hell else people complain about. I game with it. TN works for me currently. 1920x1080 would also work for me.

So, 27", 16:10 ratio, do no video/picture editing, 1920x1080. What should I get?

16:10 would be 1920x1200 not 1920x1080

16:10 vs 16:9 is more apparent on screens that are 1080 vs 1200 pixels high. Going to a higher resolution 16:9 won't feel as cramped.

Going 1920X1080 on a 27 inch is going to have pretty atrocious pixel density. But 2560x1440 is substantially harder to drive :/

If you don't care about expensive GSync or Freesync right now, then BenQ XL2720Z... I love mine. Search the forum and review sites for plenty of info.

Plenty of BenQ gaming monitors at 1080p 27" variety. Probably the best ones you can get IMO.

That XL2720Z looks to be the ticket. I guess not much out there in 1920x1200 in 27". I can't drive a 2560x1440 display with my current vid cards, and I have no desire to upgrade any time soon.

Thanks for the input!

I've had a lot of different monitors, and honestly 1080p on 27" looks like shit. If you're thinking 1080p, don't go above 24".

I did not find this to be a problem, and I moved to 1080p from a 1600p, 30" IPS screen. It's only visible up close, but you should be sitting at least arms-length away anyway.

My boss has 4x 27" Acer G276HL in his office. They look fantastic.

Again, I'm not a video/picture guy or give two fucks about precise image quality and color reproduction. What looks like shit to you probably looks fantastic to 99% of everyone else.

My monitor sits about 3-4 feet in front of me. Maybe further if I'm using a controller for driving games. I'm not 12", or even arm length, from the screen where pixel density is going to matter a whole lot. Or, at least, not to me.

Actually, in game it looks fine, but the biggest issue is aliasing. Altho I'd say forcing AA/upsampling still moderately better than going full 1440p.
