Okay I am thinking about 1 card solutions... currently I have 2 260GTX running in SLI. What are some of the newer cards that would offer better performance. I game somewhat, but mostly work on graphical things. I have 2 30" Dell monitors... or should I just stick with these cards..... my other system specs are the usual, i7 920 oc 4.2ghz, 12GB ddr3, 3 SSD, etc....

Depends on what games you run, and what your power supply is, and what's your budget.

W/o knowing more, I'd say a GTX 560 or 6950 is a good bet.

I know I will be running the Witcher 2 in a few weeks :p

But I have 1200watt PSU and budget, well I prefer not spending an arm and a leg... is the performance of say a 560 or 6950 better than 2 260GTX running SLI?

The only real single gpu performance upgrades for you are a gtx570 or 6970 overclocked or a gtx580.
Anything less is a sidegrade.

560Ti OC'd or Stock 570 should = SLI GTX 260 that scales perfectly and surpass it. Plus it fully supports Direct X 11.

570 is the safer bet though.
