Not sure what I'm doing wrong but I set Ai Tuner to manual then change my turbo ratio to 40 and it says Target CPU speed 4000Mhz I hit F10 to save the settings but when I get into windows and check cpuid it still shows multiplier at x34 I confirmed with Asus utility that the cpu is still at 3400mhz. I went back into bios and setting are still there saying target cpu 4000Mhz so anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong?

2600k will not overclock ???

try putting the processor at full load and see if it jumps to 40x. i've never overclocked the 2600k so i haven't payed much attention to the bios but its possible theres 2 ratio options turbo and regular. you might want to look into that as well.

First of all, try overclocking in the BIOS/UEFI. The software is rubbish and will probably cause more issues than good. Only use it for monitoring voltages - then again, I would suggest using HWiNFO64.
Also check CPU-Z, Real Temp, and other monitoring programs to make sure it's the frequency you set it at.

yeam im using the bios ai tuner is just the overclocking tab in the bios.. anyway i got it working found another post that suggested changing a few things so not sure which one did the trick but basically I tuned off CPU Spread Spectrum, changed CPU PLL voltage just a hair so it wasnt auto, also same for cpu voltage just a hair up so not on auto, and turned off EIST(enhanced intel speedstep technology) so not sure which but something in there did the trick because cpuid now shows correct multiplier when i update it in the bios
It was turning off EIST that did it. The reason being a 2600k even OCed doesn't need to be at max all the time. Sitting idle here at 1600mhz and my cpu jumps to 4.8 when needed.
ok well the issue is if EIST is on im locked at a 34 multiplier and it drops down to like 16 when idle but i cant set it higher.. but with if OFF i can set the multiplier to whatever i need but it wont idle down... not sure why
