even whie in a webpage holding down the scroll bar to go up and down it happens, in bf3 it stutters, in all games stutter rig in sig tried goiong bac to stock cpu/gpu clocks same issue ht on or off and my oc is stable

Did you ever install the Intel chipset drivers?

Here is a link to the latest version:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3336&DwnldID=20462&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%c2%ae+7+Series+Chipset+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%c2%ae+Desktop+Board+DX79TO&lang=eng

Did this just start or has it always happened?

What are you CPU temps like?

Have you tried reseating your RAM and your CPU?

Have you run a tests on your RAM such as HCI memtest? You will need to run multiple copies to test all your RAM unless you buy the paid version.

Do you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard?

What AV/antimalware program are you running?

What programs do you have running in the background?

bf3 stutters with hyperthreading on. disable it.

Yes when I played it on my 2600K stuttered. When I turned HT off went away.

When I play on my 2500K no stuttering because there is no HT.

There is some coding issues somewhere in BF3 that im sure will get resolved.

Lets hope MW3 isnt half baked when it releases.

Dude, those are the X79 drivers for the Silar and Thorsby LGA2011 mobos that haven't been released yet. Not gonna be easy running an LGA1155 2600K on 'em ! :D

These are for a P67 board, but I suspect that the poster's original link applies to everything new and previous, but I'm not really sure.

The OP's is clearly marked:

This download is valid for the product(s) listed below.
Intel® Desktop Board DX79SI
Intel® Desktop Board DX79TO

That's the Silar and Thorsby LGA2011 mobos.

thanks fior all th replys im going CRAZY RIGHT NOW.... I went to compusa and exchanegd my cpu fearing that I had degraded it with to many volts/high tempersates but what do you know.. reset motherboard to optmized defaults turned it on with the new cpu and same problems... stuttering left and right consistantly!! what the hell can this be?

Very likely that it's your hard drive. It is extremely rare to have a defective CPU.

motherboard is brand new (bought it with the cpu that was exchanged) hard driveis are new and were working fine in my last system (iti is a 1tb western digital black 6gb running on the intel ports) and my bios is the 2001 for my asus p8p67-PRO rev 3.1 which is the lastest... what program do you gus use to test the hard drive so i can post a screenshot and while i get a reply wilil try a windows 7 memory test but im super pissed because I exchanged the CPU thinking the stutteringi was cause of my overclocking done and it was a REALLY GOOD CLOCKER 5.3ghz now this one is less and stutters!

what kind of stuttering? Entire screen freezes for half second? How often? every 30 seconds? Every minute? Open task manager and goto processes (click show processes from all users). Organize my cpu usage, does any one program skyrocket in cpu usage for that split second?

Did the computer do the same thing BEFORE you installed all the drivers on a fresh win7 install?

Also, goto performance tab and "resource monitor". Click on disk activity, any one processes skyrocket in disk read or write?

For hard drive testing you can downloading a bootable cd such as ultimate boot disc or hiren's boot cd and run an hd test, i usually run DFT (drive fitness test).

exactly what you just said dude lets say im in internet explorer the page can be full of images or text if i click and hold the slider and go up and down on my mouse it will stutter for like a split second consistantly a few seconds apart and its annoying as hell I figured my cpu was bad because it was doing that same thing (fps is at 110 then drops to 70 etc) but now with the exchanged unit same stuff I ran the windows 7 memory test on normal settings with no errors gonna try extended now.. i have crystal disk mark installed is that one ok?

it will also confuse the hell out of me watched a 7 minute developer sdk video and i am totally not up for doing that as I feel it will just make it worse their has to be other simpler ways to figure this out..

I found a proccess and researched it came up with a tip but when I checked my mse it already had the box for only check while cpu is not in use but it said it coud use 50% processor i put it to the minium 10% and it still does the stuttering in deus ex gaming but its gone in internet explorer..

i would curse you out but the mods would be wack but NO none of that or ANY OTHER SYNDROME except for bad grammer (yes I know so it sucks but its understandable) this is something thats tricky to fix because it could be my os not hardware or it could be hardware but i still cant figure it out!

Go back and answer Cyclone3D's questions.

confirmed that bf3 stutters with HT enabled. hopefully they fix it because hyperthreading is supposed to give you a substantial FPS boost in MP.

ive already exchanged the cpu and the problem still occuring stock or overclocked ht on or off so its gotta be in my windows 7 or my hard drive happens in all games even with settings all at LOW

It is NOT advised to make adjustments to Cstates as this can considerably affect hard drive throughput performance ( especially SATA6G SSD or Sandforce 2 based SSD ). It is recommended that all CPU power configuration states be left on their default parameters. Overclocking tests have shown internally no increase in multiplier scaling when adjusting these values. * under special cases with high multi capable CPUs and synthetic high load applications ( Linx, Prime, Occt ) it may required C states to be disabled. This has generally only been confirmed for some 51-54 multi capable CPU’s

read that somewhere i dont have an ssd but my wd black isi 6gb on the intel port could this be?
