Heres the worklog of "RZ-110".
Pretty much i'm putting a xbox in a ammo can. Not that hard right? WRONG this project has been one big pain in the a$$ since the beginning.
Heres the ammo can i'm using nice good size can. Only problem is this thing is not light at all and with the parts in it, its got to be 35Lbs.

UPDATE

Got the side vents cut they need some work but i got it most of the way. I love these things they turned out great. Same goes for the jewel.

And the thing that makes it a xbox the jewel. Only problem with this is its clear i don't want that, so i'm going to take the jewel off my other xbox and put that on it.

Update

Well i got the mouse done like 5 min ago. I like it. The buttons and back was done with wrinkle paint for grip. And the middle was done with just green paint for a more army style. Bad thing is now i'm not going to be using this thing. I changed my mind about the linux.

UPDATE

Heres the fan i put in the back. It works pretty good, but now i can't stand the case up.

Heres the power and reset switchs. Simple and were no one can just bump them and turn it on.

UPDATE

Got the chip. I'm just in love with this thing, best chip ever.
modchip2xc.jpg

Here it is on the board. I used the pinheader install. I'll never trust a solderless.
chiponmobo7zx.jpg

Heres the D0, Pin39 and Lan wires soldered and taped in place on the back of the board.

Got done flashing the chip and setting up the hard disk.

UPDATE

Got the mobo tray and PSU tray cut up.

As you can see i cut the mobo tray so i can still have the DVD right on it then the HDD well be glued yes glued to the DVD.

I still have a little more cutting for the PSU tray. And as you can see i'm just using the other half of the xbox bottom i cut off for that.

Now the next thing to do is get the leds and WIRE it up.

I believe that's the same paint I used on my mouse. So far, it hasn't rubbed off on the bottom of my mouse and it's been about a year.

I've been thinking of doing an ammo case mod myself, which is why I'll keep an eye on this one.

Thats good i didn't know if it was going to. I hope you there all was a cool mod.

i wanna do somthing with my XboX to get it away frm microsoft, micht get an onld mac case and put it in that

Lighting: I'd go with either a pale green effect, or a bright white which just seeps through the case, like there's something unknown inside that ammo case.

In the end, it's up to you. Good luck man!

I'd go with a green, or maybe yellow lighting theme. Should turn out real good

And how old are you? No offense, but you look really, really young >_>

Switch Gaurds rock.

Some day I am going to get a bunch of 50 amp toggle switches and rewire my house with Switch Gaurds. You cant be too careful. Until then I will just watch you MoD the BoX.

Keep your eye on monster house there prob going to do it on that show lol.

Looks good so far. I've got some questions though, which might help me decide how to proceed with my 25mm ammo box. First is, how are you going to deal with the inside of the box? If you look in the box (first pic in the update from 03-07), you'll see how it narrows in the middle, then widens up. Are you going to shave that down (if so, how), or will you fit the components around it? Also, are you going to do anything with the endcaps (to remove the excess material from them). Finally, do you have any ideas for how to remove the pins from the hinges on either side of the box? The ones on the ammo box I bought have rust on them, and I was hoping to clean them up (they're not as bad as the endcap locks, but the locks are easy to remove).

Well the xbox parts are just the right size for the inside so no i don't have to cut anything out. But if your planning on using a ATX mobo then yes you well have to cut. No when i was going to put a front panel, (Not going to be used now) i was not going to cut any. And i wanted to take the pins off of my box to but from the way there made you would have to drill them out, sorry.

Theres the one fan i change my mind and put it in the back. But now i can stand it up but i have a idea for that.

on post #22 of the fan on the bottom (or back) it would look hotter if you could trim the fan cage off and recess the fan inside your hole ( would need to make your hole a tad bigger ) then cover it with a fan guard (or keep it unguarded to defend its self to baby kittens)

Looks good otherwise.

Sweet mod, Is that a 128mb xbox? I noticed the extra ram on the mobo.

[EDIT] wait, upon further looking the extra memory spots looked filled but the pic was just dark, oops

Yes i know i'm lazy. Heres some small updates.

Heres the AV and Ethernet jacks. I changed my mind on the inside panel. I don't like the idea of opening the door just to plug it in. The holes still need to be cleaned up but it works for now.
AVCAT5.jpg

On the back side i ground all the bullet guides down so its flat. PAIN IN THE A$$.
Backsidedoor.jpg

I cut the holes for the two Game ports. Needs ALOT of cleaning but its something.
gameportholes.jpg

And last but not least. The HDD tray. It was made from the stock xbox tray i just cut about 70% of it off.
hddtray.jpg

Thats all the picture updates. I still have to wire and all that. I'm also not going to be using a DVD drive. I modded my other xbox so i can just FTP to my other xbox to install games and apps.

Since there was alot of changing my mind i have a few holes and Fup i need to fix.

Note to self,

Buy skateboard grip tape.

Just started watching this thread. Looks cool to me. :D Although I'm wondering why Altec keeps deleting his own posts? What's up?

And 13 years old? Rock on! Keep up the good work.

I Put all my Updates in the first post. I also cleaned up my grammer a little.

I saw this mod on a different forum, I like the idea, just curious as to why you kept the xbox mobo mount piece (the black plastic). I just figured you wouldv'e come up witha new arrangement and mounting system, so to speak. I dunno, just a thought. bump for a mod that isn't a pc!

Got it. It's a rarity that someone would actually want to clean up their own posts on a forum, I appreciate the effort. Looking forward to seeing the next installment on your X-mod. :D

If you don't like that isn't a pc get over it and don't post! And theres nothing wrong with the mobo tray it saves me time. ;)

Read that sentence again... Where did I state that I didn't like it because it wasn't a pc. I said "bump for a mod that isn't a pc" not why didn't you do a pc. apology accepted.
