I found it interesting that this thing would have such a huge side fan... would there really be a benefit or just for show? In or out on the air flow?

They have some nice mesh models (A1).

I dont know, those cases are much like these ones: http://www.aerocool.com.tw/p-case/extremengine3t/extremengine3t.htm
And those only move about 165CFM. Now that isnt a little amount, but that isnt much more than most 120mm fans move. The only thing is you would be quieter than a 120MM moving that much air. BUT, if you had 4X120mm fans (which is the same amount of space consumed (and probably thinner), you could easily move more than 160CFM and be quieter still. Even 60CFM fans X4 would be 50% more air and still more quiet. A huge fan like that is interesting, but hardly efficient or better for that matter. Fun to look at...

However, you'd still be able to chop off larger body parts than previously allowed with 120 mm fans.

Soon, we'll see case fans large enough to start processing small animals and babies!

What?!?!?! LOL

Those Aerocools, look cool... heh heh no pun intended. :D

Definitely should be able to move a lot of air with that thing. If it would start spinning while undervolted, I'd imagine you could achieve a very impressive air flow to noise ratio.
