256MB is a huge performance hit in a lot of games nowadays.... running all high settings of course.



I just read a review of a 3850 with 512MB of ram and a 10% or less factory overclock..... there were a few game tests which literally doubled the FPS of a standard 3850.... with most games benefiting at least a little.

Actually, 256MB 8800GT is a good deal for those who are on a 7600-7900 cards.

I bought a 7900GS last year for $200, and I would have to believe that the 8800 would kick the crap out of the 7900GS.

I just popped for the HD3850-512MB OC for the same price. Had I seen this, I would have had a tougher decision.... Though running and Intel board, CF vs SLi is a factor.
