No matter what I change in the EFI BIOS. I am stuck @ 3300 MHz at load. It seems like the CPU sets the multiplier to what I want but auto adjusts the bus speed (although I have it at manual).

My settings are:

BCLK/PEG: 100.00 (Manual)
Turbo Ratio (By All Cores): 42
DRAM Freq: 1333
LLC: Ultra High
Phase Control: Extreme
Duty Control: Extreme

Everything else is auto or not touched. Voltage is also auto. I am updated to latest BIOS (beta).

Can anyone point out what I am doing wrong? Thanks for your time. Specs in sig.

i would run super pi 1.5 to make sure it is at 4.2g vs 3.3g. you should get 9~10sec for [email protected]. All i am saying is it is possible cpu-z reported a wrong number.

Or you turned on all those power saving options in EFI?

The core voltage of 1.36 seems high for 3.3? And your Buss speed should be 100, should it not?

.

78.6mhz x 42 is pretty much 3300 mhz.

I'd say look at the temperature for one it's clocked to minimum. YOu could also try 40X and see if the FSb come back up to match 3300 mhz.

Probably a bios setting some thing is downclocking the fsb.

AHHH!!!

Perhaps you could trick it...

Fix the fsb to 99, 100, 101 mhz if possible as opposed to automatic/default.

let us know

I've never gotten good results overclocking any motherboard using "Auto" for any of the main cpu/memory/nb/sb voltages.

try use cpu-z 1.56.2

Ya that was it! Turns out it was a CPU-Z issue agggghhhhh  Thanks everyone for the responses and feedback!

What's New in CPU-Z 1.56.2 Beta:

- Intel Core i3/i5/i7 "2000" serie processors (Sandy Bridge) with new logos.
- Intel Core i7 970 "Gulftown".
- Intel P67 chipset.
- AMD Phenom II, Athlon II and Sempron II "Caspian" processors
