My 2405fpw (rev A04)is on average has 40 to 50ms input lag compared to my viewsonic lcd 17 inch. My 2407wfp is on average 20 to 30ms faster than the 2405fpw. Therefore, the input lag of 2407wfp in the best case scenario is only 10 to 20ms.

fuzzy text.. very minor, reduced in vga input by increasing the phase option from 3 to 100. DVI has banding (using checkmon) in the mearging of few bands to one .. especially bad in grey

Nice one - looks like there's no lag issue on the 2407,which is good news. Shame about the other problems. Also suggests that the lag is a problem with monitor electronics, not the panel itself (assuming the 2407 uses the same panel as the 244T).

I wouldn't want to spend nearly $1000 on a monitor just to have it use the VGA connector.

How do you know the 17in Viewsonic has no lag, did you compare it to a CRT?

I'd like to see a comparison of the 2407 vs a good CRT. I want an LCD so bad but I do not want to introduce lag even more.

Well, if the numbers the gu quoted in the first post of this thread are accurate, my feeling is that lag is not a problem for the 2407.

i dont think both are via dvi, as the 2405 has yellowish look to it in defualt settings over vga

Hi,

so if the 2407 is really faster than the 2405 or the 244T, maybe there are other 24" PVA Panels that also have less lag!?!
At first I thought that every "overdriven" PVA will show the same lag, but thist thread yields new hope.
A comparison of the 2407 to a CRT would really be great.

Does anybody know about the Eizo S2410W or the HP LP2465?

They probably don't have the reported problems of the 2407 (text shadow, banding) and maybe they have less lag, too (or maybe even more :( )...

(sorry for my bad english)

I wonder what tests engineering used to test the monitors before the design went out the door. Perhaps, it is a manufacturing issue?

for fcuk sake, registering in here is like going through an afgan airport security - even the cavity search is included! what an annoyance!

anyway...
this test doesn't make any sense at all :s
how is it 10-20 ms?

05's input lag:
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/images/dell_2407wfp/lag_2405.jpg
745-709 = 36ms

hypothetical lag for the 05:
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/images/dell_2407wfp/inputlag_comparison.jpg
692-660 = 32ms

if you had SPLIT the signal into two, rather than use 2 different outputs, then it means that BOTH of them are already showing a delay on the picture! (compared to the signal already in a computer chip)

if 05's input lag is 36 ms, then it would show 660 + 36ms = 696 on a CRT (if you had had any).
so... the 07wfp shows 692... which means it has only 4ms input lag? (696-692)
doesn't make any sense...
