Holly cow going from 17crt to this is like caveman coming to a city.

I was afraid that i might get dead pixels, etc, but nope, everything perfect.
Played FEAR, HL2, CSS, POP3, and BF2:SF....hollly shit...all i could think of...WOW

and my 6600GT handles it like a dream :p

Congrats and welcome to the club...Trust me after using the 24in, using anything smaller just seems wrong.
The only problem is that with time, you get used to the size, and it does not seem so big anymore and you have to upgrade. I'll wait until the summer and this 2405 is going to the parents and I am getting a dell 30in
 
For me the text size is like the same. Cuz on that 17 i was using 1280x1024.

Dude seriously i sit like 3 feet away from it, and i have to move my head/eyes around...lol
I mean i play a lot of games, and finally i can play at max reselution. Anything bigger then this, i cannot imagine.

My sony cybershot fsc-t1 camera is pissing me off, i connect it with usb and it wont read it, so now i can finally go buy a SD card tomorrow and start using the built in card reader for my camera :D
 
Im in the same boat, got my 2405 this past monday, and I went from a 15.4 widescreen laptop lol.

Just surfing the net, and staring at the background, is enough to put a smile on your face.

I have a question, for about a year i was stuck using refresh rate of 60hertz, cuz i thought my 17 wont support higher then that, but it run the same with 2405 so i got wondered. And i played around with the setting of my vid card, and finally found out that it because of the vid card not monitor. So now i changed it to refresh rate of 240hertz. And suddenly after i chnaged it, my mouse sensetivity jumped up...

Is it ok at 240? if yes then how i can lower my mouse sensetivity?

LCD monitors do not have traditional "refresh rates" as do LCD's. Just leave it at 60Hz.

Oh ok, but it won't hurt if i just leave it at 240? because i notice that it does not hurt my eyes as much?

That question, I don't know the answer to ^_^.

Hm, well............... your monitor certainly has a lot of a virtual space. For some reason though.... it just doesn't look too big physically. From the pictures it looks about the same size as my 19" sony lcd... maybe that's because mine has a ton of plastic around the edges.

Anyway, like I said before, enjoy it!
 
What mod are you playing in 6 15:33?

Dude look at it in comparison to his case and keyboard, you know you've been tricked by pictures before. It's alot bigger in real life, check one out at the dell kiosk in the mall. Remember when you bought your first stick of DDR ram and thought it was going to be so big?

Oh btw congrats, and are you really running native in those HL2 shots?? :eek:
 
thanks guys, i just got done cleaning my room, and maniging the cables, now its all clean and tight...it looks sweet, whoever walks to my room, they jaw drops open...with my custom made desk and this monitor..lol

thanks, i am not sure what you mean, but i run HL2 @ full blown settings...16:10, 1920x1200, 6aa/xx, etc. You will be amazed how GOOD my Asus Nvidia 6600GT 128 MB GDDR3 Performs...but i want to get BFG Nvidia 7800GT, cuz games like FEAR, BF2, i cannot run at full settings, and it bothers me...you know :p

mod? what you mean? the game is Half-Life 2, single player mode.
 
I am really trying my best not to touch the screen, but some how i got few fingerprints on it already :rolleyes:

What should i use to clean it?
 
I usually clean my laptop LCD with a non-moisturized tissue that has been slightly dampened with distilled water and then let out to dry for a few minutes.

I then dry it with a fresh tissue of the same type, this works very well.

However I would NOT reccoment doing this as you could create micro-scratches on the panel and get all that tissue dust all over the screen! :p

If there's two things I've learned with screens over the years they are:

1. If you don't know how to clean it, don't try!
2. Don't use your finger, you'll kick yourself when you see the hairlines tommorow.

What settings are you running FEAR at. Is it possible to post some better shots O' FEAR. Your one balsy motherfucker, a 6600GT/2405, I am afraid of the 7800Gt/2405 combo. Congrats. Hopefully I can pick one up, if they drop in price after the 3007.

Pretty high settings, about 75-80% out of max settings.

FEAR is a good game, but not what i expected.
Story line sucks.
The gameplay envoriment sucks major ass...thought out the game..you play for hours and hours and it feels like your just circling around...same AI and same old rooms, walls, etc.

But the actual gameplay, shooting and stuff is really fun, it feels so real, thats the only reason o kept playing it. At the end it gets lil bit scary, but it also gets really stupid. And its such an easy game.

Well you see, my 19" sony LCD has a lot of plastic around the edges, and I measured it the other day. The diagonal of the plastic came out to be about 24"...... so... I guess to me it doesn't look that big because I'm already use to a big monitor (yea, mine's bigger then my keyboard also, about the same as his pic).
