hi, i am going to be getting a digital camera soon, and was wondering what good cameras i can get for this price range. i would like the camera to be of good quality and have a movie option. i might be able to go as high as 275 but that would be where i top out. i am getting this camera for personal use, not to become a professional :p thanks for all suggestions!

Nikon Coolpix 3200 is one ... around 249 and 3.2 MP. Quality point and shoot cam. There is also Canon A60, A70, and A80, which are all in the $200-300 range if I'm not mistaken.

yeah, i was looking at the a75, it looks to be a pretty sweet camera. i am still looking around though, i want to cover myself...usually i end up buying stuff on impulse and regret it a little while down the road.

I've been pretty happy with my Canon A70... Grab a little noise reduction software and that puppy will produce images that look like they came from a much more expensive camera.

One piece of advice though... be sure to get a screen protector for the LCD... the plastic they use on it isn't very resistent to scratches.
