I'm thinking about getting the fortron bluestorm 500w for my old DFI NFII Infinity board and was wondering how much of a problem this might cause since I know it adds a little resistance. I've actualy got quite a bit of stuff in it and was looking to add some fans.

XP 3200+ barton
DFI NFII Ultra Infinity
2x1gb OCZ EL Platinum pc3200
2 PATA WD HDDs
2 optical drives
HSF
9800pro 8x agp (possible upgrade to nothing higher than a 6800gt or x800xl)
3 fans (want to add two more).

I'm sort of having a hard time deciding which supply to go with, because with this True430 I've already ran out of 4pin molex connectors and wanted to make sure I got one with enough connectors for 2 more fans and enough power.

If you can avoid it just don't use it. Lert the extra four pins hang off the end......it is keyed to work properly like this.

Yeah I don't think it has the detachable 4 pins does it? I was also thinking about this TTGI super flower at svc http://store.yahoo.com/svcompucycle/sf-550psu-grn.html Anybody know anything about this particular one?

I have that PSU. The pins aren't detacheable...which wasn't what I was trying to communicate. When you plug in the 20 that are keyed teh other 4 just hang off. It is keyed to work like this.

I use the 24 to 20 pin adapter, been using it since i got my PSU and had no instability issues or problems by doing so. Any specfic issue that could arise by doing so?

This does not apply to the 20 to the 24pin adapter though.

Nothing more than the usual resistance, and extra link in the chain that can fail.

Well since we're on it.

Which side does it hang off when facing the side with the clip?

Also, on my PSU(AMS 550W EPS/SSI), It's a different type of adapter. Just take a look.
