24-pin really needed for this upgrade?

I'm upgrading my dad's computer and the current power supply is an Antec SmartPower 420watt (maybe 430watt) that came with his SX-1040 case (the old Alienware server Chieftec style case)

Anyways, I'm swapping out his board and CPU for something a little more capable and the new motherboard (ECS KN1 Lite) has the 24 pin connector on the motherboard with the extra 4 pins blocked off by a sticker that says (24 pin)

I downloaded the manual and it SUGGESTS using a 24 pin PSU and says it MAY work with a 20 pin PSU. I really feel his Antec PSU will be more than sufficient (new video card is only a single 7600GT, no power supply adapter even required. CPU is a lowly 3400+ Athlon64). His PSU DOES have the 4 pin vCore plug (that seperate power plug from the 20-pin molex)

What do you guys think, do you think I need to grab him a PSU too? I really don't think I do as this will not be an overclocking box and it's only got one optical and one hard drive.

There is a decent chance it will work.....but how old is the antec?

No clue if it'll work. It depends on the board design and the model of that 420W. As far as the PSU capacity is concerned, the 12V output is important.
How many amps are available on the 12V rail(s)? It should say on the side of the PSU.

The Antec is maybe two years old.

I do not know the 12V rating, we're reusing it out of his current computer so I don't know right now because it's running.

If I have to, I'll give him my Ultra 500w X-Finity I got for $15 AR as I'm not even using it. Just got it because it was cheap and yes I got my rebate :D
