everyone here has been waiting for that answer for months now....
FP241WZ
LG L246WP/LG L245WP-BN

those 3 seams to be the best, but they all have their problems...

Gateway 24" is the best current 24" LCD for console use (including the Wii). Handles 1080p over VGA for 360 perfectly (black bars on top and bottom), PS3 1080/1080ip over DVI properly (black bars top and bottom)and 480p over component on the Wii. I think it has the most functional scaler of all the 24", which is really ideal for console use.

For the best picture on the:

- PS3: you need DVI w/ HDCP
- 360: VGA (or DVI w/ HDCP for the Elite SKU)
- Wii: Component

I'll probably buy benq fp241w with upgrade firmware(1:1 aspect mode...),I can say that perfect motion isn't so important(most reviews write that it isn't too much useful)...the gateway 24" maybe is very good but there are a lot of opinions that say that it is very good but also a lot that say it isn't..there is also dell 24 a04 but I think that it isn't as good as benq..give me some other trusts thanks:D ...

Ok, but you ask which is best for consoles, the BenQ is not even with the firmware update.

so...in your opinion ferris which is the best?

What about the Dell 2407? I've heard that the A04 also does 1:1 like the gateway.

Can anyone confirm that? I'm looking to get a 24" soon, and want to use my 360 on it.

Gateway has all the option to be great, but with poor image quality (opposed to BenQ and LG's monitor)

well my 24 inch monitor only has video inputs. so my xbox is conected to the video in, the adio cables from the xbox are running into a cable i grabbed from my local futureshops av department, that takes two rca jacks(red/white audio) and just has a male 3.5mm audio jack on the end. my computer speaker setup has an axilury in on the sub so its plugged into that and the sound just goes into my computer speakers as normal. i also have a simmilar cable that takes 2 rca jacks, the red/white and combines them into a female 3.5mm audiojack. for that i would just unplug the main speaker line from the back of my comp and plug it into the splitter to send sound to my speakers.

I have the 2407wfp as shown in my sig and I have the DVI for PC, the VGA for the XBOX 360 and I still have component and compositie video inputs left open for other things. I could hook up my original XBOX ...but enh. And I have the Wii hooked up to the TV already and that's not going anywhere. I guess I'll leave the component inputs open for whenever I get a PS3...in 2 or 3 years when Blu Ray has been ruled obsolete and worthless and the price of the console comes down to around 235.
Anyway uhhh...with the XBOX 360 on the VGA hookup, it looks pretty freakin' sweet I must admit. Every game looks great.

So what makes the Gateway better than the Dell or the Benq?

I want to find out what monitor works best for the Wii. (I'll also be using the monitor as a normal computer monitor, obviously.) Is there a consensus for the best monitor for console gaming?

So what makes the Gateway better than the Dell or the Benq?

The ghosting, color banding, inverted ghosting, glitchy touch buttons, terrible QC....

Oh wait? did you say better than the BenQ or the Dell? um, well, gee, uh, well, hmm, maybe the two component inputs?

Most gamers would point you towards the BenQ once it gets the next firmware update. The BenQ has two 1080p HDCP capable inputs, and two regular 1080p capable inputs plus s-video and composite. Once the BenQ gets the Firmware update, I highly doubt the gateway will be able to touch it...

Anybody tried to plug in a PS2 over component on the LG L245WP? Also, I've been hearing that the LG has problems with outputting 1080p over VGA. Does this affect HDMI as well, since I am planning on getting a PS3 later in the year.

I have the 2407 also and I hot swap the PC and PS3 on DVI, the 360 on VGA. I need to get component cables for the Wii now that the slot is free. I may look into getting the 360 elite to make use of HDMI and reshift everything to DVI or just buy a VGA KVM and hook up the 360 and PC via VGA instead of getting a DVI KVM.

Man I hope somebody can help me here cause im getting very frustrated.

I need a 24" monitor to use with my PC and my Xbox 360.
I can have the Samsung 244T cheap, and maybe the 245T when it gets available. However people doesnt seem to like the 244T and I dont know at all about the 245T.
Then we have the BenQ which somehow seems to be the favourite amongst most users in here(can anyone explain why excactly?) BUT The BenQ series confuse me so much because of all the different models (FP241W, FP241WZ and FP241VW) and because of the firmware upgrades.
Anyway it sounds like a great monitor, but whats the difference between the 3 models and should I be aware of anything regardring firmware upgrades comming in the future for instance?
Finally we have the Dell 2407WFP which now has the latest upgrade Rev.A04. Also looks like a great monitor and with the Rev.A04 it is now working perfectly with the Xbox 360 right?

It would be great if someone could clear things up for me, cause im really really confused at the moment and its beginning to get really frustrating.

If I were you, I'd wait until the FP241W gets the next firmware update and jump on it then. It has been announced, it just has to be tested and released.

Thanks for reply.
Yeah I think ill be going for the BenQ. Now only thing I need to find out is whether to get FP241W or FP241WZ. Is it the W model or both that are having a soon coming upgrade?
I find it pretty hard to find the FP241WZ anywhere here in Europe.
