I guess i got lucky. I DL'd the console client onto my 233mhz laptop and decided to let it work instead of just sit there.

Anyway, its knocking a frame down every 45 minutes or so. Looks like a 3-4 day run. If I can be assured of getting these smaller units with it, even at low points, I might be able to keep it running.

2 years ago a 233 would have been a fair enough computer...

this reminds me

i have a k6-2 500 mhz machine and it seems to be running gromacs cores mainly, and it takes forever, now even if gromacs are usally smaller should i try and get it running tinkerers just because it doesnt depent on new optimizations at all like SSE so may give me more pts/h

i know how to get the gromacs mainly with -advmethods , but how do i ask for "-oldmethods" heh

If you remove the "-advmethods" flag the you are more likely to get Tinkers.
At the moment I'm running about 75% Tinkers, 25% Gromacs on my AMD's without that flag.
If you can get Tinkers that way, they should run around 1.75 points per hour for you.
If your running 3dNow on a Gromac you are probably around 0.66 points per hour.
Without then its could be less than 0.5 at a guess.

Luck........ :D

Edit. With a 233 Mhz mashine I would switch over to G@H in the setup.
That way you will get timeless Gromac's and you will not have to worry about makeing the deadline.
