Hello All,

This is my first time posting and I'm very happy I discovered the forums. They have been very helpful in my search for a monitor. I've been searching/researching for the last couple of weeks but having a very difficult time finding something (mostly due to my lack of tech knowledge)

Here is my specs for the new build:
i7 3770K
GTX 680

I will be using the computer for Microsoft Flight Simulator (FSX) and run 3 identical monitors. I will only use the computer for FSX, no other games, video editing ormovie watching.

Budget: $150-$180. Not sure if I can get a good monitor in that price range but hope too. Will go to $200 but am really dragging my feet.

I like the semi anti glare and anti glare monitors I've seen. I might be too picky but I prefer a Bezel that is matte in color and not the shiny border; it's not a deal breaker but it's my preference.

Response Time: Not critical factor with FSX. I think 60Hz is fine.

What I've looked at so far: This was recommended by a friend who does not game.

Dell 2414m - Out of my price range but do like the anti glare and size of the bezel. I did see the monitor in a store and really liked it.
Dell 2312hm - A little out of my price range but might be able to find it for $200

I've looked at some Asus Monitors and I didn't care for the shiny bezel and thought it was a little wider (bezel) compared to the Dells. It's not a deal breaker and I might get used to it.

I really appreciate any advice. I've been having such a hard time narrowing down monitors because of so many options.
 
Dells are really nice, you might want to consider one larger display instead of 3.. really depends if you're goign to be doing more FSX or more editing/movie watching.

I'll only be using FSX, no movie watching. I do like the Dells but they are a little more then want I want to spend.

Personally I would advise against the Asus VH242H, since it will have rather poor viewing angles (being a TN based monitor). IPS panels (like the Dells) are much more suited.

Although a 23" is ok for flight sims, you may like the extra height of a 24" 16:10 panel (such as the U2412). I think the vertical space helps with fitting your instruments in. As Weenis suggested, you may be better off with a single, larger display (for instance the U2713) as it offers more value in the long run and it adds vertical space.

As a last remark, I think a good monitor is a better investment than a top-end CPU and graphics card (which you plan to buy now). In 4 years or so, a quality 27" panel will still be able to compete (while current CPU and GPU chips will inevitably be outdated).
