I read about the panel lottery of 226BW.

Does anyone know if this issue still exists?
 
Yes. Just happened to me and I got an awful A panel. Just returned it, getting the w2207 again.
 
Yep, I got an a panel just a few weeks ago. I'm gonna stick with it. While its not that great, its definitely better than my previous panel.
 
I went to the store earlier and I did find the secret Service Function screen.

Here it goes:
Auto Auto: On On
Pixel Shift: On

The Panel Info. is no longer displayed.

Based on the info above, can you tell which panel is this?
 
It doesn't matter. No matter which panel you get, you can calibrate them to look pretty much the same as the "S" panel. There's a thread here about it, do a search. Someone even posted color profiles to set A and C panels up with.
 
I found the answer from the other thread:

* X-xxxxxxxAx-xxxx: Samsung panel.
* X-xxxxxxxLx-xxxx: AU Optronics panel.
* X-xxxxxxxDx-xxxx: CMO panel.
* X-xxxxxxxIx-xxxx: CPT panel.

So, M-ME22H0CLA-1002 is a AO panel. Too bad. They have 5 other ones still in boxes, feel stupid to open each of them to check...
