i am building a 1500 budget computer, and am deciding on a monitor.

2209w is amazing i heard, becuse it is IPS and with low input lag, and i can prob get it for 210 bucks.
but people have suggested me to go 24'' ones instead.
with my budget, it seem like i could only go Tn panel.
what do u guys think?

noobie side question:
it appears that even my 17'' macbook pro has 1680x1050 resolution, the same as the 22'' 2209wa, how is that possible?

It provides more space to work with

Downside is, the texts will be very small

I recommend the ViewSonic VX2433wm 24-inch Monitor. The monitor quality is just excellent.

More pixels per unit area ⇒ smaller stuff.

Personally I'd go for the 22". 2 more inches do not justify sacrificing the goodness IMO. Also, obligatory out-of-context quote:

TN WILL BREAK YOUR LEGS AND RAPE YOUR BABIES AND MURDER YOUR FAMILY IN THE NIGHT AND STEAL ALL YOUR MONEY AND LEAVE YOU A SHADOW OF A MAN.

Haha. For the record that was a tongue-in-cheek jab against the extremists that hang around the display forum :p

I know. That's why I said out of context, I used it opposite to what you meant :D

BTW I'm by no means an extremist. I'm fairly new to the TN vs others debate. But having tried it myself, there's no way I'm going back.

Yeah to each their own. I've owned IPS and TN and used VA's at work and school. TN's have come a long way and IPS is great if you have the budget but sometimes you can't swing it or want to sacrifice for another feature. C'est la vie.
