22" LCD widescreen

That has the same panel as used in the Acer, Viewsonic and Westinghouse 22" widescreens so the only difference will be the bezel, stand and electronics driving the panel. So far from what I've seen the Acer is slightly better than the Westy and the Viewsonic and Samsung are too new and not many people have tried them yet. You might want to wait a couple weeks for more professional/user reviews before deciding.

edit- I like the 22" size but I don't like the 6 bit TN panel with dithering on these monitors. Also all of them are either fugly (Viewsonic, Westy) or just bland looking (Acer, Samsung) in my opinion.

Not true. Samsung makes their own 22 inch panel for that monitor.

The other 3 use the chei mei panel.

I'm also looking into a 22 inch widescreen. Anyone have any comments on them? Check out this awesome deal...

Samsung 22 is TN

Apple 24 not sure but LG-PHillips does make a 24 inch A-TW-IPS panel

NEC is using it in their new 2490 which comes out in december.

Samsung 225BW is pretty nice. I was messing with it at Fry's today. Colors are bright, sharp but viewing from different angle shows some discoloration. If you just use it for gaming it should be a great choice. Price around $399 too.
