Hello, are there ANY non-TN monitors on the market, which would NOT have this stupid coating?
Just a glossy or a normal-coating one, not the 23x ridicuosly over-aggresive coating like the dell/hp IPS.

Thanks.

I too have been looking a long time for such a screen.

I'm afraid only the Apple cinema displays. But then again they are anti-pc in every way.
So sad only Apple knows how to make a decent screen but also went out of their way to make it difficult to connect it to a pc.

You could always risk washing the coating off as some forums have shown possible.

I tend to think the guys to blame are actually not the LCD producing companies but rather the big group of people that scream for matte screens because they haven't heard of curtains and must surely be defined as blind

Just look at the threads here with people asking for at matte screen.

I actually don't think agressive coating is the right word for the crap they try to sell us. I call it "optional dirty screen look" Get it before your blind neighbour :D

For instance I owned a HP lp2475w for a month. I kept trying to clean it..lol

I'm getting so sick and tirred of this that I better stop rambling now before I get embolism ;)

A little bump, is situation still the same or there is a new monitor with normal/no coating? If no, i guess I'll have to buy TN and forget about good colors and viewing angles...

Well, there are those BenQ VA LED models like the VW2420 and EW2420 that have semi-gloss screens. The only catch is that they are very average (uniformity, responsiveness, color accuracy out of the box, QC etc is quite poor).

I had the same issue with lp2475w. It kept giving me a major headache and I felt like the screen was really dirty too. I couldn't see the whites for whites and it was really annoying. Apple does make a great display though. In addition I have been quite happy with the 2209wa and wont ever buy another monitor w/o being able to see it because of the hell I went through for that very reason. My next monitor will undoubtedly be a Apple one if I can find an easy way to connect it to a PC. :)
