So would I see a performance decrease if I were to use an FSB of 240 and a multiplier of 10 to achieve 2400MHZ?

It would be the same, unless your memory could run 1:1 at 240, which would give a perf. boost

It is all benchmark #'s though, because you wont see any real-world difference

I would say it would give you a performance increase if your mem is still ok.

Well the only reason I want to do it is because I'm currently using PC3200 memory and whenever I try to hit 2400MHZ with my multi set at 11, I have to downclock my memory and when I boot up, it ends up being 172MHZ instead of the stock 200MHZ. So I figure if I can lower that multi and raise the FSB then I will be able to hit 200MHZ with my memory again....

Please tell me if I'm wrong in saying any of this because I'm still relatively new to overclocking.

Ok thanks! :)

Finally I've got it to 2400MHZ with my memory at 200MHZ. Now on to 2600MHZ....

Remember MHZ will also be better than raw memory bandwidth. You need to find a happy median. Don't be affirad to use divders, as on A64's it does not hurt there preformace one bit.

Yeah, except with my board I cannot find anything about memory dividers. I've searched the BIOs completely and searched through the whole entire manual. It's an ASUS A8n SLI-Deluxe if you guys have any experience with those you may be able to help.

faster memory speeds will also negate the higher Mhz speeds to a point.
IE, ram running at 2-2-2-8 @ 172Mhz may run faster than ram running at 3-3-3-8 @ 200Mhz. it would be close...but real world "seat of the pants" benchmarking won't show much of a difference...at - all.

I vote for 240x10
