How you get them?

You get them by killing players with the knife. I only have 89 unique dogtags sofar, some people have an insane ammount of kills with the knife though.

One thing to remember when knifing people is that the sound it makes when you switch to the knife can be heard by everyone around you. So if you're in a quiet place and pull the knife out behind someone theres a good chance they'll turn around and blow you away.

Is that why theres so many Pistol and Knife only servers? I just got the game yesterday and I am still getting use to the game.

Yep! In all of EAs wiseness, they decided to make even more people stat-whore for knife kills! K&Ps are probably still against RoE for ranked servers, but unranked, they're a lot of fun. Hell, unranked = fun^2.
