Hi im ordering one from dell very soon, less than a week. Im just waiting for their 10 day deals from june 1st to 10th.

I currently have a SyncMaster 955DF 19" CRT monitfor from samsung and im sure the 2045fpw wont dissapoint.

I only have a few questions.

I know that not all games support widescreen, for those that dont, how will the game look like? Can somebody post some pictures?

Other question is, well this is not really a question but more of a recommendation question, how long does it take for a screen to burn on the LCD?

Last but not least, for those who do have it. How is it?
 
Every game I have that doesn't have native widescreen support I've been able to change the resolution and FOV in the games .ini file. Some people have done some complex math to get the correct FOV for the aspect ratio but it seems if you just add 10 to whatever the default ratio is then you get the same result. If you goto widescreengamingforum.com you can see the solutions. If for whatever reason you can't get the game to operate in widescreen you'll get a 4:3 image in the center of the monitor equivalent to the size of a 21" monitor. I haven't noticed any burn in myself but have changed the brightness from the 27 people on here have recommended to 55 for daytime use, better contrast that way IMO.
 
Oh so I can make a game run in widescreen even if it doesnt support it?

Thats pretty cool.

Im just happy that I have a 6800GT to play at very high res
