2012 Most Annoying Words

With the same slang meanings as today? Meaning "awesome, great, spectacular, bitchin', ballin', radical, bodacious"?

Sick used to be gross and nasty. Beast was... well, a beast. Boss was the guy you worked for.

That's so sick. I want one. When I was younger, and we said something was sick, it was gross and made us want to vomit.

Yep, same meanings. It's strange to hear kids now talk almost the same way.

What type of person are you? Skater/snowboarder? It seems that's the type of people I heard it from first...

I've also heard some weird stuff from people my age from different parts of the country...

I don't use those terms :p Just pointing out that they have been around for a while now.

I work with a women that tells stories that use the word "said" all time.

I.E. "Then she said that he said blah blah blah. Then I said that he said blah blah blah. Then they said blah. Then I said blah. The said blah back to me. But then I said blah blah."

By then I leave the room to make copies or something. On the same token, the over use of "they". "'They' say", "'They' act", "'They" mention", etc. WHO THEY HELL IS THEY! gndkgn lfskgfsdgb s **headdesk**

"No Problem" made my list.
Went to this restaurant and ever other word the server used was No Problem.
What happened to "your welcome"?

What happened to "your welcome" ? Well, for starters, it never did exist. Maybe you mean "you are welcome" or "you're welcome", and maybe in that case you are not welcome, so they use the next best thing not to offend you, and that is no problem :).

I'm 32 as well, and they had the slang definitions when I was 10-13.

I can imagine the people who grew up in the 19th century bitching and moaning about the perveted usage of "welcome" in response to "thank you." instead of "it's nothing" or "my pleasure." Languages evolve. I'm sure half of what we say would annoy the piss out of someone from the 1940's.

Oh come now, your impeccable grammar skills are not necessary :p
When services are paid for most people expect a "You're more than welcome"
or at least "You're welcome" after a thank you.
"No Problem" sounds like I went to my mechanic to get some thing fixed.

Do you really expect someone with art degree working for minimum salary to be happy serving you ? :D Be happy they say "No Problem" instead of something rude.

Depends on where you go. At Applebee's, I'm sure that's true, but servers at a good restaurant can be making $90k a year.

I am pretty sure in my country they don't :D (hint: Slovakia, 300€ minimal salary, 800€ average national salary; in comparison minimal salary in US is around 950€)

This. (though English is not my native language)
Just tell me “I went to the doctor and everything was ok” without wasting 20 minutes of my life.
