Anyone have a good idea as to the safe operation temps for a 3930k? I've been googling all over and getting numbers all over the place. Thanks in advance.

The Tcase for the Intel® Core™ i7-3930K is 66.8°c. However Tcase isnt a good measure for you to aim for, I would be looking to stay under 70°c under load.
Just to put your mind at rest there is a final safety called Thermtrip (125°c) which will turn the processor off to stop it from being damaged.
