My friend has an athlon 64. At a lan deal i went to, he was making fun of my K7 athlon computer because the games fsp isnt too hot. I told him about my 40$ compaq, yet he came back saying his athlon 64 would leave it in the dust for "serving".

My scenario: Quad Pentium pros @ 200mhz each
1Gb of ram (2gb total, 1gb per two cpu's)
SMP'ing, he isnt (dual pci busses, dual ram, dual scsi... dual everything).
2x Ultra scsi II
hot swap drive bay in the front
7200 (im guessing) scsi hard drive, can hold out to 14mbs SUSTAINED reading and writing.
10,000rpm 18.1Gb segate cheetah

I know my hard drives and dual pci bus would burn rubber if they had wheels, but im not sure about the rest of it. This computer was rated at 600mbs with about 600ms click delay serving HTML. to me, that is a lot of volume, even though i would never be able to afford an internet connection that can handle that load.

I just dont know if an athlon 64 3000+ would top that. i dont know what he has for ram, at least 512mb of DDR400.
